Kolkata: Kerala Communicators Cable Limited (KCCL), a leading multi system operator with a dominant presence in Kerala, has announced its strategic entry into West Bengal, marking the start of its pan India expansion. The move brings KCCL’s operator-owned and operator-driven model to eastern India through a partnership with Balaji Universal, a Category A ISP with strong infrastructure across West Bengal and parts of the Northeast.

The launch was attended by senior industry leaders, including Cable Operators Association president Praveen Mohan and the top management of KCCL and Kerala Vision Broadband Limited. Addressing the gathering, Mohan said KCCL’s Kerala success had restored confidence among cable operators by allowing growth without loss of control.

Managing Director Sureshkumar P P said KCCL had grown its cable base in Kerala to over 30 lakh connections despite challenges from OTT platforms and rising content costs. Chief Operating Officer Padmakumar N said West Bengal was a key focus to expand wired broadband and support digital services delivery.

KCCL plans to invest Rs 10 crore, seed one lakh set-top boxes, target 25 per cent share, and create jobs while expanding digital services statewide in Bengal.
