Kolkata, 24th December 2024: Advancing beyond conventional practices, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is spearheading transformative changes in the green energy sector by optimizing efficiency, cutting costs, and fostering sustainable energy systems. Today, an International Conference titled “AI Empowering the Future of Green Energy” was organized by Future for Nature Foundation and New Bengal Consulting (NBS).

Held in the august presence of Prof. Kamal Sarkar of Jadavpur University, Smt. Suchandra Sengupta of Microsoft, and Dr. Sohini Bhattacharya of Rice University, among other dignitaries, the event highlighted AI’s pivotal role in revolutionizing energy dynamics. Shri Debashis Sen, IAS & Founder CEO of NBS, emphasized, “AI is catalyzing the shift to a sustainable energy future, delivering smart, green solutions for combating climate change.”

The conference also featured a panel discussion focusing on AI-driven innovations in green energy. Over 100 students from institutions such as Calcutta University and IEM College participated, gaining valuable insights.

AI is transforming renewable energy by predicting output with precision, enhancing grid efficiency, and ensuring optimized storage. It tracks carbon emissions, facilitates peer-to-peer energy trading, and enables microgrids for remote communities. “AI’s ability to analyze data in real time makes it the backbone of sustainable urban planning and efficient energy usage,” stated Dr. Swati Nandi Chakraborty, President of Future for Nature.

The session concluded with a vision for 100% green energy by 2070, backed by AI’s potential to drive innovation and guide informed policymaking. Through smarter energy solutions and sustainable practices, AI is not just a tool but a game-changer, unlocking new opportunities for a cleaner, greener future.
